HBR Competition Engines was started back in 1981 by Rick Rapp. Now it is a family owned and operated machine shop run by Rick and his son, Jeremy. Back in the 80s, Rick ran a small business porting, polishing, and flowing cylinder heads….hence HBR (Heads by Rick). As his business grew, he moved into a shop in Hollywood, FL. He continued to add machines and services until he had a complete machine shop on his hands. HBR Competition Engines operated out of Hollywood, FL until 2002, when they relocated to Las Vegas, NV! Despite moving their business across the country, HBR was able to build a loyal customer base in Las Vegas, while maintaing many of their Florida and international accounts.
